Project Challenge:
NatWest identified a recurring challenge across several of its high street locations, where open-door policies exposed branches to external conditions such as traffic fumes and fluctuating temperatures. With entrances positioned directly onto busy roads and high levels of footfall throughout the day, existing heating systems were struggling to maintain a comfortable internal environment for both customers and staff.
The Install:
The initial install was at NatWest Sheffield, where AirDoor Lite was installed at the main entrance to help combat external air infiltration and support internal climate control.
The Sheffield branch is located within a listed building, requiring careful consideration during installation to ensure compliance with site constraints while maintaining performance effectiveness.
As the branch was undergoing refurbishment at the time, installation was completed without disruption to customers or daily operations.
Another five branches across the UK including Bath and Manchester were also fitted with AirDoors as part of the initial project.
By reducing the ingress of traffic fumes and stabilising internal temperatures despite the open-door policy, AirDoor Lite has helped improve comfort for both customers and staff while easing the demand on existing heating systems.
Following the successful rollout of AirDoor Lite systems across six branches, NatWest has expanded the programme to a further eight locations nationwide.
